It’s no secret that plumbing and rooter companies have a negative reputation.  To be honest, you probably don’t know the half of it!  That’s why I have made it my personal goal to change the way plumbing is handled in the East Bay.

Rather than trying to extract as much as I can out of my employees and twisting my customers’ arms to get them to sign a contract–the way some other contractors do–I believe that employees perform best when they are appreciated, respected, and well-paid.

And as for how I treat my customers….

I believe that providing 5-Star service and helping people solve their problems and protect their home and property is THE best way to ensure success.  Plus, it’s just the RIGHT thing to do.

At Avalon, we are all about doing your best, being honest, and conducting yourself with respect and integrity.  There is a lot we can’t control, but we can always control our attitude and how we treat others.  That’s why honesty, integrity, and respect are the three qualities I look for most in employees, regardless of their experience level.

Those are the very same values that guide my approach to customer service. My goal with every homeowner I work with is to solve their sewer and plumbing problems in the most cost-effective, long-term way possible.

Why Customer Advocacy Is So Important To Me

Not everyone in this business is here to help people.  Unfortunately, a lot of plumbing and rooter companies in the East Bay are mainly in it for the profit, and they are willing to take advantage of homeowners.  Sometimes it’s a matter of getting them to sign up for services they don’t need, but more often than not, the services they do provide are inadequate.

I can’t tell you how many times we’ve had to undo, redo, or just do for the first time what another plumber FAILED to do correctly.  Sewer line and sewer pump installations are not cheap, and if mishandled can end up costing you THOUSANDS of dollars.

Believe it or not, I HATE having to fix the mistakes of other plumbers. It’s so frustrating to think of all the wasted money and added stress that homeowners have to go through just because they hired a plumbing company that failed to do the job correctly.

Long story short, I decided to take a radically different approach to customer service and company culture because I wanted radically different results: homeowners who are happy to have worked with us and employees that are happy to go to work.
