Low Quotes Often Come With Caveats – But
Our Plumbing Quotes Are Caveat Free!

3 Issues That Other East Bay Area Plumbers
Might Not Tell You About Your Low Quote

We get it – having to pay for plumbing and sewer services in the East Bay, CA can feel like a heavy burden. As a result, many homeowners look to save money wherever possible. So, when they see a low quote, it’s (initially) appealing.

However, like most things in life, you get what you pay for when it comes to plumbing services and sewer services. And, more times than not, your “low quote” comes with caveats.

But at Avalon Rooter, there aren’t any caveats. There are no hidden fees, and you won’t experience unexpected price hikes AFTER the project begins. Instead, our quotes are honest, detailed, and fair.

More From Avalon Services

#1: “Check The Fine Print” Costs

Let’s start here – many plumbing quotes are indirect “estimates” initially. That is to say, the price they tell you upfront may not be the price you pay in the end. So, you should always ask the plumbing company if the bottom line price you see on your quote is ACTUALLY the price you’ll pay.

You may find that there are unexpected and unnecessary additional costs, such as trash removal and cleanup fees.

In other instances, the plumber may simply misdiagnose the issue. When this happens, their first efforts to fix the problem fail. But YOU still have to flip the bill for their failure… in addition to paying for them to fix it on try #2 (or try #3).

More than that, some “low quote” contractors may try and slap you with “unforeseen” costs that are entirely unreasonable. For example, after your project starts, a plumber might say “Well, we found more damage that we couldn’t have seen during the inspection. That’ll be an extra grand to fix.”

Although there are times when unforeseen issues do arise and are legitimate, they should be few and far between. Instead, the plumber should do everything they possibly can to make your quote price the FINAL price.

At Avalon Rooter, the price you see is the price you pay in almost every instance. We won’t change your price after the plumbing project begins.

#2. Low Quality Materials And Workmanship

Unless they intend to lose money on your project (and trust me, they don’t), plumbing companies who offer low quotes have to save money somewhere. In almost every instance, the first places they skimp are with materials and workmanship.

What does this mean? It means you receive materials from second-rate manufacturers at best and “knock-off” manufacturers at worst. These materials are sure to wear and tear much quicker than the premium materials we use at Avalon Rooter

Next, plumbers may try and make their low quote “work” by paying their workers less. Well, at Avalon Rooter, we don’t feel this is right for our hard-working employees, who meticulously install your premium materials. And we don’t feel it’s right for YOU. You deserve the best installers, and our installers are the best of the best.

#3. Lack Of Reviews, References,
And Overall Experience

Ask yourself this: WHY would a plumbing company in Oakland, Piedmont, or anywhere else in the East Bay offer a low price? Ultimately, it comes down to one thing – they are trying to create a competitive advantage. They may not have the reviews, case studies, or extensive company history that we have.

And that’s all well, good, and noble… until the project begins and you realize they aren’t qualified or capable of carrying out your plumbing project. Although we are sensitive to the fact that everyone has to start somewhere, trusting YOUR plumbing needs in the hands of someone who may or may not be reliable is a risky gamble.

Not only that, but it could cost you MORE money. After all, the most expensive plumbing project is the one you have to do twice.
